just bought another tig....

hey up all

i've just got back from the bootsale and have bought a small (140amp) tig welder.
i've had a look on t'interweb and can't find one with the same name

it's an italian machine (probably rubbish) but i tried it in stick mode with my own pliers and earth and it laid a lovely weld albeit with a cackley whistle like mig

here's the little machine...

i think it's a light duty machine , here's the jargon (though i don't know what it means!)

there were about four torches with it (unfortunately none were the correct sized plugs..., they were all tangled up together and took ages to un-tangle, also there were a couple of extension leads in there too...

has anyone heard of the make before? or can anyone tell me whether it is indeed a cheap and nasty thing

Not heard of that make before but that doesn't mean it's no good, Italian made stuf is normally pretty good.
4A-140A, 110A @ 60% duty cycle, 90A @ 100% duty cycle so pretty good there.
Don't worry about those torches having the wrong size dinse plugs, just remove them and fit the correct size ones.
I have to ask, how much did you pay for it?

I wonder if it`s a rebadges GYS, only going from the colour obviously. And don`t forget, once youve piked out the torch you want, i`m sure someone on here has just bought a tig without one, so may want it, makes your one even cheaper if you get some beer tokens for it.

The colours are the same but I don't think it's a rebadged GYS.
A google search shows up a few more results including some pretty big machines!

i paid the princely sum of £20 for it so i wasn't really bothered if it was no good, it was just a nice surprise when it arced up and went really smoothly....
i feel like i've pinched it from him now..
i was a little cheeky and asked if a welding visor that he had on a different part of the stall came with it- he said why not?? take it mate

last week i got a britool 1/2" socket set for £7, i was very happy with that even though it was AF and WHITWORTH.....
