misalignment reducing spacers keep breaking

I fitted new ones and new rose joints about a month ago but today I noticed the lower spacer had broken again. Are these just made from rubbish metal could they be made from something stronger and be used without breaking.

I'd ask myself why they keep breaking. Are they suitable for the job in the first place ? Is there something wrong with the alignment which puts force in the wrong direction that causes them to be overstressed ? Looking at the pictures it could seem as if they don't have enough movement and under extreme angles something has to give - the bush. Fit a stronger bush and something else might break ?

it is my off road truck but I did try the normal missalingment spacers and they did not offer enough movement they are a lot stronger though

Yes the red part is the adjuster.

Ha ha pure chinesium is it I think. I have not been any where to abbuse it yet only up to the farm with the mrs. Fancy making me some from decent material if I send you a sample.

I ordered a pair from McGills this morning just to comare them to the ebay ones they look the same in the picture, I am sure the last ones were from McGill too

Just plug it in in the horse box. Shouldn't take long to cock up a few and get the idea.

Took me 3 attempts to turn my last critical part. Second time thanks to a cheap tap snapping inside it.

You don’t need special skills to turn that. I can’t imagine they are to amazing tolerances
Just copy them on a length of bar and part.

The hard part of making that was clocking it in the chuck and trying not to feel nauseous while its spinning off center.

Don't let lack of skills put you off. Decent set of digital calipers and some mics and take it slow when you get near finished dims.
Better of taking 6 shallow cuts than two and over shooting the mark.

Only way to learn anything is to do it.

This part got my tumble reverse working again and gave me apron traverse towards the chuck. Could only run the other way previously.

Think that was the first attempt. Old on the right.
Can't thread the new part as needs to rotate on the eccentric to set the gear correctly.

Highly recommend indexible tooling btw. Who's got time to far around sharpening tools
