Milwaukee 18v sawzall - which one do I want?

So I thought it would be simple, but, again, there's different types.

One is a load more cash than the other. They're both "fuel" though, so what's the benefit?

Bottom looks to be a smaller unit. Not sure about the handle angle tbh.
I'd be having the top unit myself rather than a redesigned drill casting and motor assembly turned into a lightweight recip.

I've got the top one & its really good! I paid £110 body only which I thought seemed good value for the use I get out of it

Well only you can answer that. Look at them. They aren’t the same tools. Ones a full size rip saw that will go through Scaff pipe like butter. the other is a smaller lighter tool more intricate and looking at the handle more controllable.

So which one do you want???

The lower one is a lot more money.

From the comments above it seems that the higher one is the more powerful.

That seems odd.

Ok, so the question should have been - what's the difference between them.

Thereby allowing me to make a choice - but I though that would be inferred.

the lower one is desinged to fit into tighter spaces,
I have the top one it is a great bit of kit I cut some trees down with it in the usa when i purchased it

Yes. Top cheapest,
Can't see why tbh. Going to be far more going on inside the bigger saw.

the smaller one is dearer because it requires quality smaller components i reakon and a different mecanisim

Yeah, top one is a bit over a ton. Bottom one (the crooked one) is closer to two.

Nothing poor at all about my behaviour. I’m Just stating the obvious. Dunno how you found a link between that and the sale rules you have a mega problem with.

I've got the smaller 12v MILWAUKEE C12HZ-0 M12 LI-ION HACKZALL. I take it to the builders merchants if I'm buying some timber I need to saw in half to get in the disco. I've used it to saw pipe, both copper and plastic, plus joists in very tight corners and the wife uses it for pruning trees. Works great if you use the right blade for the job, very small and compact which helps a lot. I have a larger Screwfix special corded sabre saw which I rarely use now. I think the body only cost me about 90 quid, I've used it loads so probably worth the money.

probably looks well suited for what im after.

If i want any amount of precision, i can do cuts on other saws. Im just looking for fast rough cuts really - eg "demolition" as the blades are named, but it will also be a bonus for taking down stock too long to fit in the car.

(i have the 18v system currently)


They do another in the style of the non-kinked tool in the "fuel" system, but its more like £350 - i cant really work out why, but, it does not matter, as i dont want to spend that much anyway.

Always have a few spare blades, they dont last when your abusing them at an awkward angle.

Pretty pleased with it - its certainly brutal enough.
