Machining carbon tube

Anyone know whats the best tooling for milling thin wall carbon fibre tube?

I want to cut a window (60mm long 45%dia) into the side of a 36diax2mm wall tube.

I’ve 20 to do

Be very careful cutting it, the dust is not nice, if exposed to heat it will do you some serious harm.

Any sharp milling cutter will be fine.
Or saw disc in a dremel if you are doing them by hand.

Make sure it's fully cured, not fresh stuff. The dust burns pretty well also...

On tube, watch it is not under stress as it might try and stress relive itself when you cut through. If it's something important then try and find a bit of wood to use as a core, might be worth heatshrinking the outside and cutting through the lot if it's got a top coat finish

I had thought of the router, means I could do it outside as well.

Clean the dust out of any machine electrical bits. CF has a habit of shorting across terminals

Just picked up a 6mmx75mm with 45mm of burr for £18. What sort of speeds does it require? Not sure what my Elu router goes to 20k?

Preferably 24-30K RPM, you should be fine at 20K though.
