When the 'no carry' legislation came out in Scotland I asked our local Bobby [remember them? ] what was the situation when I carried a knife for work purposes and wasn't going to leave it there at finishing time?

She said that as long as I went home from work and left the knife there before going out again, say to the pub of shops I'd be fine.

If I went straight to the pub with it in my pocket and was challenged, I'd be in trouble. Seemed fair enough in a small village, but in a city I don't know how you'd fair......

I remember a butcher being done years ago for carrying knives, he popped down a few doors from his shop in his white coat and white trilby, and the sheath of knives on his belt, to get some change from a neighbouring shop. Nicked and charged. Don't know whatever happened to him. Struck me as a massive waste of taxpayers money.

I'm thinking about writing letters of apology to my grandchildren - for leaving them with such a mess to sort out when we're gone, especially this over departing from 'you know where'.

They're going to have a big job on when their turns come.

Jack whitehall (i change that name slightly myself) the "comedian" was on the telly earlier. He says that you cannot use the terms "he" or "she" in stand-up anymore as its sexist . To be honest i cannot believe the world has gone like this.

The french are still in there, but on the news half of Paris is going up in flames. A nice forklift got torched, i like a good forklift myself.

Without wandering into verboten terrority and having the thread locked, an incident happens, there is a public outcry, mr or mrs mp has to say something, "Lets ban knives, guns, drugs, whatever" and the public are satisfied for 10 minutes, but in reality it does sfa to solve the issue.
