Can the head of the milling machine "nod" ? Swivel forwards or backwards ? I have seen straight machine blades done like that.
Well if it doesn't, you could hold the blade at an angel and mill it that way.
yes the head can move at an angle but unless its absolutely necessary I wouldn't move it. I'd use an adjustable angle plate instead, or mill a taper onto a block of metal and then clamp the nkife blade to that.
on the hobbymat I'd use the face of an endmill rather that the flutes of a milling cutter as its not the most rigid of machines and you're more likey to get chatter
Mill yourself a block the length of the blade set to deg of bevel required then clamp knife and block to the table.Does that mean the blade has to be clamped to the table, unlike the video above?

^^^^ as he says or machine a couple of wedges from a cople of metal blocks (like the clothes peg below) or door wedge
and clamp them under a metal plate to give you the correct milling angle
Just to add a I don't think a milled blade would be as tough as a forged blade, in forging your forming the shape by forcing the grain structure to go where you want it, with a milled blade your cutting away the unwanted material so the grain structure won't flow in correct way. Or I could be just talking a load of b********!Even easier, I’ve got a collection of wedges that came with a box of tooling. Just need to acquire some flat bar or plate

I found it very difficult to grind a blade on my linishing machine, basically a six inch wide belt sander. Looks like two to four inch wide dedicated belt sander is the way to go and even then, it looks like it requires a fair bit of skill. You can ruin a blade in seconds that has taken days to produce. Ask me how I know....
