I bought one off eBay a while back. Major disappointment as it's thin & not flame retardant [not a priority for me, just somewhere to wipe my mitts].
I've since learned something about thread counts, but what did I know then.....
Look for overalls treated with Proban, that's what the workwear rental companies supply, it doesn't last long though a few washes and its gone, ex rental workwear can be very good value if you can still find it.
I’ve been looking for ages, will only buy it if I’m stood infront of it, as 99.9% are very thin, all I want is a heavy cotton light brown store coat. Seems they don’t exist any more

This sort of thing is your best bet. They do the job better than any other sort
anyway I managed to find the last two in stock at BallyClare for the princely sum of £5.00 ea plus vat and carriage, they will last me long enough if looked after.
Followed your experience, coats at £5 + VAT + carriage. Total came to £22 odds, and their Checkout won't accept Debit card or PayPal.
One lost customer, shame as the coats look good value and thick material too.
They are having problems with their online ordering, I had the same issue, if you mail this lady she will sort it for you,
