jumbo nail gun

I was watching youtube channel RR buildings and he was using a 'jumbo' framing nailer to bang in 4" ring nails which were also proper gauge.
We have paslodes and what not that fire in light gauge 90mm (and ring shank up to 75mm )nails which have no holding at all.
My question to any chippy's on here, is there such a thing over here?

I’ve seen compressed air powered nailers fire 100mm ring shank nails. It was at a place where they make kit frame houses

Regularly fire 90mm rimshanks from a paslode and dewalt gassless nailer.

Hit a gnarly bit of wood and there prone to struggle. It's not so much what you nail but how you nail that gives holding.
Skew nailing for eg. When I'm framing 3 to 4 nails top and bottom of each upright. Two angled in from each side.

Never had the need to go bigger. Would assume the big gauge used over the pond is used with more substantial timbers.

As an aside. The thicker the nail the more likely the timber to split.

Pretty sure 90mm ring shanks are available....and the heat activated adhesive must help a bit too.

When ive had problems with them, its mostly down to poor placment, or not having the timbers pushed tightly together.

I want to assemble a frame out of heavier timbers without having to screw
Recently I demolished a building where part was older with heavy wire nails and It was hard work where as the new bit was paslode nailed and it was easy and the nails where skewed in though I suppose the sheeting holds it together

Not only sheeting but gravity and assembly methods too. Pulling nailed timbers apart you can work on the optimum angles.

Never seen or used bigger than standard framing nails.

Cant play these games,i have no patience....bought 5 boxes of nails and received a gun free but at the time the Genuine Paslode nails as of today where very expensive and convincing a chippy with a 10 year old hammer to cough that much money for a nail gun was almost impossible.

90 in my frame nailer but its not a frame nailer its like a first fix paslode fires straight everytime caught a few knots in wood it scews it

its caught my hand a few times on backside of it when holding wood against wood just nicked the skin drew blood

brothers raided my paslode for the moment unless i want it then he loses it

i used the garage peoples one up in aberdeen damn thing shot in some times but many a time gun threw back not like mine though, sometimes didnt sound like mine either

oh i wouldnt swap my hammer for a paslode those things was expensive still are nowadays and I still have to use my ball hammer for those pesky 4" and 5", 6" nails
also used it on bolts for lazy putting through a hole

Have you tested dewalts gasless gun yet. Wouldnt go back to paslode now.

I've got the Dewalt. Quite noisey though (so my neighbours tell me) . I was wearing ear protectors so didn't notice
