Sorry Fred, Jedward's already been taken

Why try to relate a new product to the past glories of a defunct brand? If what you are planning to make will be to the standards of old Edwards products, why not come up with a new name and explain that you are basing your products on proven designs? This way, you avoid confusion between "your" Edwards and that of others with the same name (Butters welders come to mind where I remember getting confused between Butters NBC, Butters AMT, UK made Butters etc. and never being sure who to believe was genuine).

Does China care anything about - trademarks or patents?
I think not...
Owning a patent or a trademark means one thing in China - you will sell one full priced article - they will buy it - copy it - then produce it by the container full...
Changing world... Copyright or any intellectual ownership has only a value in the past. You need money and warships to protect your sales now.

^^ I've heard a variation on that story. It happened during the war, we designed a top secret battleship and leaked the plans to the Japs. They built it, launched it and it promptly sank
Only thing I can say is I do t think branding a new product with an old name helps anymore. As so much crap has been sold under the guise of a good brand![]()
I want to
TBH I wanted to know how to track down how to find out about said rights which a gentleman on here told me that’s allGood luck then.
I would point out that this forum is a good cross section of your potential customer base and the reaction has been overwhelmingly negative.
Ignore market research at your peril.
To find out how to track down who if anyone owns rights which it did!!Which begs the question....why the thread?![]()
