Ok firstly hello to all on the forum I am generally a wood turner and artisan carpenter, but to compliment some of my projects I am going to get a welder. I have booked a beginners Mig course for the new year as an introduction, the rest will be learn as I go. I foresee projects such as table frames, table legs, jigs, fire baskets as the type of work I will use the welder for. But the inevitable "can you just" will come along.
I had decided on Mig with the R-Tech range or similar within budget, but the more I read the more I like the idea of Tig for finish and versatility. I know that with either their will be a steep learning curve but as I will be starting almost from scratch which I choose will make little difference to what skill set I have at the mo.
So from the above which would you choose Mig or Tig.
Many thanks
Stuart
