Hi Liam, Jasic are good bits of kit, very well backed up in the UK, made to a good spec and are really worming their way into all sort of industrial sectors which must be for good reason.
The JM-252C is a good bit of kit, We keep them in and they seem to be very popular, they're relatively light for a workshop style machine, multi process and simple to use. I'd say you'd not go far wrong if you're welding up to around 10MM.
hi tom cheers for the reply . ten mill would be the max . i like the fact they can stick weld and tig too. it was either the jasic or a butters uk or oxford. but my local supplies shop only sell jasic.
as J O said really, there is a butters amt 270 on ebay at the moment, no torch, apparantly new unused,I have the same machine and its great, but would point out the min power setting is 40 amps, no good for car tin work thats for sure compared to oxfords or tec arcs, depends what you are using it for really, car work you really want minimum 30amps or slightly less and spot and stitch functions are a real bonus.
If you are doing fab work the amt 270 is good as it has 2roll drive, love mine but have a second machine for tin work,an Eland mig, great tool if you can find one .hope this helps.Arther
Hi arther id be doing fab work . Im stil steering towards the jasic 250 inverter mig . I kinda want to buy local and all the shop has is jasic or swp proline 270/1. The jasic is 1300euro and the swp is 1400 euro .
the Jasic is inverter based. theyre okay, but overpriced if the 5 year warranty is not provided easily by the seller.not unheard of.
I haven't seen a good swp mig ever I don't think?transformer based but normally poor duty cycle, and the pcbs are usually rubbish
an oxford 250 or similar is roughly in the same price bracket, and a lot nicer to use, will last longer and have a huge sell on price.
