Hi Guys,
I have a Suzuki GS 1000 79 and the previous owner had used a fluid type liner to coat the inside, this has started to break up, I have tried a kit that was supposed to dissolve the liner and I now have a right mess inside the tank..
I am thinking on cutting the bottom out of the tank so I can clean it out completely.
Welding the bottom back on.....! Mig, Tig or brazing...??
My Mig welding is ok, Tig I'm learning and getting there, no brazing equipment...
The metal is sound with only surface rust to deal with..
Once completed what psi pressure test and for how long to determine they are good enough to hold fuel again.. ??
Any advice greatly appreciated...
Cheers,
db.
