Evening all.
I've posted about this before, but I'm getting closer to actually doing this now. In short, I had my garage extended to create a workshop space, but the floor is lower than the garage, so i need a mechanism to move items from one level to the other. At most I'll be moving 650KG, but i'm unsure on the calculations, I had a go and didn't get very far (maths never was my strongpoint)
The Garage is single skinned, so there isnt much chance of using the external walls for loading.
This is what it looks like:
I thought of two ways of doing it - a 4 post frame with an overhead runner, with the hoist on a beam trolly, gives me a lot of movement, but is taller than i really want
Second option would be frame on the garage side, then fixed into the breeze support pillar at the other end. the hoise would just run up and down the middle, which is fine
I'm not sure on RSJ sizes i would need, the width is 3m and the length would be 4.5m
I've seen a few people with similar things - so i'm looking for more advice, and if anyone had a guide for the calculations, that would be helpful,
thanks in advance
