Motorcycle frames?

Just noticed this forum gets a mention in the current edition of Back Street Heroes (BSH) motorbike magazine, in an article about using MIG to modify motorbike frames.
Fame at last - don't be surprised to find some questions about bikes in the near future

Has anyone got any experience with bike frames?
A friend was asking about removing the seat & rear section so he could convert to a hard-tail.
Or the more advanced option of lowering the engine, then fitting a hard-tail.
I told him to go see someone who knows what they are doing
Any hints, tips, or useful links appreciated

Nomad keep reading BSH as mr bridges is covering hardtailing a stock gs550 frame, all your questions will be answered. from memory last month was the first part of the series hope that helps

Nope, last month (issue 300) was the second part.

First part was about picking a "donor" bike and working out what you want to do with it.

Second part was about adding a bit into the downtubes to lower the fromt of the bike so that when it's hardtailed it sits level, and to add a little more rake.

I should imagine that the next couple of articles would be about hardtailing the frame...
