Hah. That's why I buy and collect the next day with zero planning or prep. Doesn't give me time to worry, just to think of solutions to get it out of the van.

I hae done similar and used dollies with castors on, used a pull lift to ease it down, no brainer just make sure you have sturdy castors, the ones on my dolly are 4" and are rated to something like 250kg each

To move it around on the level i use scaffold tube and a tow jack it surprising how easy it is to moves on pipe did the same with the mill

Good to see it went ok, Castors & Pallet trucks are recipie for disaster. Last year i was asked if i would like an Elliot surface grinder, it was in good nick & sitting in the college where i used to work.
Caretakers insisted on movng it outside on their own. They got it on a pallet truck nearly outside, went round a corner & the thing toppled over smashing it good & proper. Fortunately it didnt land on anyone! It went straight down the scrapyard. Ah well.

I have that exact same engine hoist. I redrilled the front wheel holes a little higher, to allow the lower legs to slip under my hot rod easier. It was very low......
