Lots, obviously it depends on the size of thread.
This is a bit long winded but you will get the idea.

You will need the insert tool and correct sized drill, the link is just to the 'refill' pack of inserts.

the machine mart set is pretty good. although it pains me to recommend them as usually their stuff is junk.

Woodbery Chilcot used to have a test alloy plate on the counter with hellicoils in it think 3/8 & 5/16 & a box of standard bolts if you were bored waiting you could snap of a couple just to prove how good they were.
We used to fit them as standard to any alloy bits on the rally\ race\hill climbe cars gear boxes bell housings diffs etc.

It's a m8 thread and it will be tourqed to 22 nm the original hole was stripped from new but the shop is a 4 hour drive away

I always prefer the insert type especially if the bolt is one that needs to be removed.

Proper helicoils are passivated so they're not too bad, you can always pop them in with a bit of thread sealant to help if required - if it's a big issue for your app you can get coated ones.

There are people on ebay who sell the coils, taps etc seperate and you save a lot doing it that way, rather than by buying a kit. I did this to helicoil a rear hub for a motorbike a while ago. Worked a treat.

I got the machine mart set and it's definitely done the job I forgot to take pictures the only hard part was getting the last helicoil cut down to the right size

Never had a problem with them reacting in Ally or Magnesium the Morgan had Mag from the back of the engine through bell housing, gearbox casing,diff casing, we always fitted the HC's 1 thread below the face & used bearing fit to lock them never had one poll out or move
