Yesterday I was trying to get my head round screw cutting on some scrap material on my Boxford BUD lathe. It went okay after a few mistakes but halfway through the day I lost the variable speed function from the remote inverter control box fitted to the headstock.
The lathe has a 3 phase motor converted to run on single phase through an inverter (I bought it like this a couple of years ago) now I can only adjust speed using the pulleys.
I suspect (hope) it's the potentiometer in the control box which has stamped in it =
"Lin A RS 10K made in UK" and nothing else.
Can I just replace it with any Linear 10K mono potentiometer to see if this solves the problem?
Cheers Pete
