Cheapest way to top large area of work benches

Id suggest more longtitudinal support, or the doors will flex possibly crack. Or build the tops from wood and over lay the doors for a smooth surface

Theres a cross bar front to back every 2 feet. The legs are under every other one.

Ahhh, the classic oversight. The vice would be better at the edge of the bench, so that longer work pieces can overhang in the jaws if necessary.

I guess you are right, but the bench is so long that i think i can run things the length of the bemch.

I covered myself for both. Set forward enough and a matched vice the other end of the bench in line.

I had to drift the gudgeon pin out of a piston the other day, it was difficult enough driving down on the drift, never heed trying to hit it sideways.

My eventual plan is to put my slightly smaller vice on this bench and mount this one on a custom made tripod. I will adjust the bench vice position then.
