Saab 9-5 gearbox or parts.

My saab has developed a fault where it now jumps of of 5th gear and makes a row if you try to get it in.
It started of jumping out every week or so and then once a week and then twice in a journey until today it just wont stay in.
So it now needs a replacement gearbox or preferably parts to replace 5th gear while its in situ (which i am told is the preferred option)

Anyone know the best place to get the parts or at worst a gearbox. ?

It could be adjustment of the selector arm. If not it will be the 5th gear hub can be replaced in situ and I think it is a cheap part.

No..thats the problem. 6 speed box is cable and 5 is linkage. Trying to woek out what to stick in google to find parts is a minefield.

Neither of them list the 5th gear hub sadly.

Having said that, just give Neo a call - they don't always keep the website updated. I just bought a drive shaft from them - £40 inc delivery next day.

A search for 9-5 synchro ring brings up suppliers - pretty sure that's the bit that goes.

my mum has the 93 turbo on a 09 plate and its mainly vectra apart from the electrical parts which are oddball saab tweaked.
hopefully it will be and therefore easy to get another.

any vectra roughly 05-08 after then is when the insignia took over.
but thats the later 6 speed so you might find you need earlier vectra or maybe even astra.
theres a saab guy in brum called bagnall saab who has a lot of spare cars he's breaking in his yard ask for RAY.
he sorted out some fog lights for me not very long ago.
still on the hunt for a tow bar and dog guard tho as its the estate version

but thats the later 6 speed so you might find you need earlier vectra or maybe even astra.

Mine is estate...i use a cheap generic guard...i would prefer to fix it with parts if i can get them but i will call and ask anyway.

Get the gearbox number as it is probably an Aisin box and they are used in lots of cars. On mine it is clearly visible in the engine bay LHS. Or look it up from the VIN on http://www.saabsportugal.com/en/vin.php
