So the thing that I'm wondering about to start with its whether to create 'feet' for the triangular sections at the front (like this person has done) and then weld that to the bottom plate or just try to weld the triangular piece directly to the plate. Using feet seems easier to me. I did think it would be nice to just bend the bottom of the triangle piece to create the foot but I don't know how to do this and get a consistent bend so that both pieces are the same height?
The other thing I'm wondering is what thickness of metal I can get away with. I want it to be a strong as possible as id like to be able to kick the engine over in the stand. My mig is a Clarke 135 te so I don't think I will get anything past 3mm - but that's but welds isn't it, where as id sometimes be welding one plate on top of the other (can't remember what that's called!)
Anyway any advice offered before I proceed will be gratefully received
