Got directed here on recommendation from Volkszone (VW forum)

Looks a very good site you have here.

My Beetle has just failed its MOT with some welding issues so I thought it was about time I learnt to weld and get it sorted for myself.

Complete noob to welding so expect lots of daft questions to come in the future

Hello, this sure is a great place, I hardly ever post because the answers
are always here already and there's such good pictures and tutorials etc.

underneath we have issues

thats actually quite an old pic and the bodywork is a lot better now mainly since I did this just before xmas (all fixed now though)

a parked car

greasy road + 40 year old brakes + momentary distraction = that^^^^ (the other car, a VW Sharan looked like it had hardly been touched)

just thankful that nobody was hurt.

unfortunately not

2 year old with a terrible cold in the back seat coughing his lungs out. Felt so stupid that I had turned for a split second to check on him. Just lucky I was driving sensibly up to that point and I could slow down and manouvre around the car in front that had stopped quicker than I could. It really was a fairly low speed impact but made quite a mess.
