Hello All
I have been doing some work on the Chevy and I have some concerns regarding the paint preparation or lack off. I cannot quite work how the previous painting was done. Im finding those out of sight places dont have any paint on them. The surface feels roughto the touch and Im wondering if the car was blasted or chemically dipped etc. Have a look at my video about 12 minutes in to see what im talking about. I think a lot of these areas are going to be very dificult to get at with the truck assembled.
I think my plan will be to neutralise the rust with something like FE123 and the paint or Dinitrol where I cannot paint. Panels that are relatively easy to remove are being treated in the way. My thoughts are probably to try and do first aid for a few years then further down the line a bare metal respray etc.
Any thoughts and advice welcome
Regards Chris
