Binky is a massive advert for their ability, however 200 hours @ £??? Per hour for the heater box means I will just wind the windows down
Yeah I know they both have full time jobs and Binky is just a "whenever we have time we'll work on it project", here's a sobering thought... If it took 200 hrs just for the HVAC I wonder what the total amount of hours they have both spent on this project ? then imagine billing them hours at a decent rate plus add in overheads, consumables, electric etc etc and the total will be horrendous

I feel they are really dragging the project out! Don't get me wrong the craftmanship is great, But I would say its clearly a side line with the time taken if the first episode was back in 2013?!
Recent episode was very average, Prefer the other ones where they did more fabrication & had to keep changing things due to problems along the way.

That’s projects for you. Often the simple things can take ages and get very involved or there’s one job you’re not looking forward to that everything else hinges round. Quite a lot of time gets eaten due to lack of resources, equipment and even talent! Space is one thing overlooked for consuming time on projects.

Your comment got me thinking... and I can't believe that I've actually just done this!
A while ago I did the same, but didn't make a graph, just a text file with the numbers in it.
Unless those two win the lottery or somebody rich dies leaving them loads of money I can't see the intervals between episodes getting any shorter unfortunately. As my sig says "Never enough time"

So assuming a 40 hr week that's 5 weeks worth of work and there's 2 of them so only 2 1/2 weeks work, mind you Richard only seems to make tea so more like 4 weeks work for Nik with some help from Richard (only kidding Richard if you're reading this) So what's taking them so long ?
But seriously, top notch work guys as alwaysnow starts the 6 month wait for the next episode
As I recall they said in one episode that they get about 16 hours there a week (i.e a weekend).
So a 200 hour heater system would be 13 weeks or 6.5 for the pair of them, and they lost five weeks for this episode due to illness, holidays etc.

Of course they're making this big project into a much bigger one, they could have just stuck with the original, inadequate systems and just focused on the engine and running gear.
But instead they're making a fantastic vehicle that's actually going to be something to be very proud of and can be used like a proper car (albeit a very small one) with all the comforts life requires.
Hats off to them, they're doing an excellent job.

That's exactly why things like Fast and Loud exist, people want to watch an entire car built in a 1hr episode and believe that in some fantasy land it was done in 12 days.
They've never said it's a full time job, they run a fabrication and car prep business and this has always been a sideline.
