In that video, what could the driver have done better? The car is centred over the axles with a bias onto the nose (due to the engine being at the front). I can't see what the driver could have done to avoid that ?

Slowing down fast is apparently the worst thing you can do. Those who "know" recommend acceleration, but it takes huge balls to do that. I have had it start to happen to me and chose to slow down very gently, seemed to work. Very easy to recon his loading was wrong, or he should have done something different, like "tank slappers" on motorcycles, even racers have difficulty in regaining control once the pendulum effect takes hold.

I once came across patches of sand on the M6 just north of Forton services and wondered how they got there untill a came across a landrover 90 on the hard shoulder facing the wrong way with a trailer load of sand behind or by now a part load as the rest was spread on the motorway puzzle solved
