Blind Panel Clips - what are they called ?

I'm looking to source some fixings to make existing steel panels 'clip on' rather than bolted as at present.

The things I have in mind consist of a male bolt on bit that engages with a female clip bit - when pressed in, the male , which starts off pointed but rounds out and reduces to a shoulder, enters the female part and clips in quite firmly.

Seen them, got the picture in my mind, but don't know what they are called to Google them

I knew exactly what you meant, very common on central heating boilers but I didn't know what they were called either. I like those sort of google puzzles.

I always liked the dzus fasteners.......made of metal, when cars weren't tin........

Dzus are very good but show on the outside, whereas these ones are truly blind. I've emailed OddieFasteners to find a UK distributor as their web site gives no clue

Oddie fasteners were in common use on British bikes to hold the side panels on. However, you need to twist them to unlock. They don't seem to meet your requirement Andrew.

The drawing reminds me of the fasteners used to hold the convertible hood onto the body of my car

The ones at the top of the link are 1/4 turn, but down the bottom are the 'push-pull' ones like he's after.
