A Drummond lathe.
And this big vice.
Lathe number five...
Took me a moment to twig there.Worth it if he can get it. Those BS lathes have powered crossfeed.
Yer. I was going to go to £100. But you getting it to a bidding war with people. The vice will be the last to sell as it's the last item.Shame you missed out on it. Let us know if you get the vice, and plenty of photo's of the internal setup if you do.
Cool. You got a pictureThey're likeable machines. Good quality, well finished etc. I'm currently in the process of mounting the bed of my 1913 5" dual height bed. Uprated the benchtop it's on, so farting around with placement currently, and figuring the best way to bolt it down. Can start reassembly once that's sorted.
lost the vice. That sold for £50. I left a bid of 45 on it. The same foreigner who brought the lathe had the vice.I'll take one this aft. Keeping the placement atop the two tool cabinets, but they've had a length of butchers block added to the top now, to give a better, more sturdy, mounting surface. Nearly killed me, oiking the bed up onto blocks to slide that under.I've decided I'm going to use 5" no.2 as spares for this and no.1, rather than classing that one as a future restoration.
That's in line ready for strip down and sorting. Got a few more bits I got my eyes on.Damn foreigners buying up good old British industry
*only joking*
Still, I suppose you’ve got more time now to treat us with some restoration pics of that big power hacksaw your bought recently![]()
