Decided it is time to replace the rusty front wings on my 9000 with a couple of spares I have - one good and one not so good.
What is the best way to deal with these small holes? The round ones take the arch trim but have a little tin worm also. I could possibly tack a patch on the back face and fill with MIG, I know probably the best way is to cut out and replace but very close to the arch moulding and not sure my skills would deal with that!
I could patch the back with glass fibre and then fill?
I am looking to get these soda blasted prior to professional spray job. Strangely after reading the thread on here about sand blasting recently I made one enquiry about soda blasting and was told they had stopped doing it as too expensive for medium so only sand blasting - I thought this was prohibited or is this only for domestic use? Sooooo, I know you are a resourceful lot.......
I want these to last as they are becoming rare as hens teeth now unless i can find a whole car locally...
Is soda blasting the best way to go or will sand blasting be fine and not cause distortion, will using MIG cause distortion? or if I use fibreglass and fill presume need to leave until after wings cleaned otherwise the filler will be blown out?
