Corded Drill

I want to get a corded drill for drilling mild steel but all the corded ones I see listed seem to be primarily SDS / hammer drills aimed at folks wanting to drill masonry. Can anyone recommend a mid range corded drill that's multi function and will also do steel?

Hi.
You can't go wrong with Bosch profissional GBM 13-2 RE if you plan on buying new. A bit on the expensive side just what you need if you plan on drilling a lot on steel.
At least for holes up to 13mm and hole saws.

if primarily drilling steel I would prefer to use a decent pillar drill but that does pre-suppose you have flat bits of metal that aren't attached to anything else and that the holes are close enough to the edge

I have a Bosch GBH 2-26 DFR which is an SDS but has an easily fitted keyless drill chuck, overkill for what I do with it but it gives the impression of being good enough to become a family heirloom

I only buy them second hand. have a few metabo couple of Makita a hitachi and a dewalt . I use the dewalt for work because its light small and has a 650 watt motor all geared not just electronic crap
