I'd like to see us adopt the Australian system of the Government providing 3rd party insurance for all and top up being an optional.
Not very likely to happen though.
But paid for via the road fund licence so that would go up steeply.

A bit like bailing out gambling bankers and then removing public services to pay for it.But paid for via the road fund licence so that would go up steeply.
Why??Having a non-fault accident doesn't mean that you don't present a higher risk to the insurers.
The bottom line is that there is a correlation between having an accident (fault or non fault) and an increased likelihood of having another. Insurance companies have the statistics and adjust prices accordingly. .
Why??
But it might be the only time you have ever visited there.....and you might live in an area where you are more likely to get your car stolen. Why??
But why should it??They cover theft too, so obviously living in a rough area will affect a premium.
The average person will be involved in x amounts of accidents in a lifetime. By having an accident you MUST reduce the risk of having another.
And yet, the data suggests otherwise.Lies and statistics What is about having an accident that does make you prone to having another, as I said earlier, having the experience of a prang should make you more aware of dangerous situations.
If the data suggests that being born on the 26th of a month when it was a full moon is a higher risk, you'll get a higher premium.
It was fascinating to be honest, someof the correlations were wierd:Damn & double damn!! I was born on the thirtieth which was bang on the full moon. That might explain the howling though.....
But its all smoke and mirrors.....its like saying as a driver you are more at risk as having an accident than if you are a passenger. It was fascinating to be honest, someof the correlations were wierd:
The actual day of the week that a DOB falls on for the year, and whether the home address is semi-detached considered together appears to be a factor, but taken seperately makes no difference.
Engine size and policy start month.
Profession and car colour(!)
There were others, but those are the ones which stood out, and it *was* 20 odd years ago...
Dont believe it......tell me what you want to achieve and i will provide figures to prove it.And yet, the data suggests otherwise.
By the same logic, you would say that with every year that passes not being involved in an incident, increases you risk of it happening.
Red...Dont believe it......tell me what you want to achieve and i will provide figures to prove it.
As i said before lies, damn lies and statistics.
Silver cars have the most accidents.....
There are twice as many silver cars on the road than blue ones.
So which colour are you more likely to have an accident in???
