I have one from my oxy-turbo set which is empty - well no gas was coming through the nozzle.
I thought it could be used to make something like a single one of these
I'm familiar with what's needed to render the larger gas bottles safe [done it], but before I start cutting it I want to know a) how to ensure there's no residual gas traces left and b) has anyone done it and is still alive to post a reply?
I don't want to start if there's the remotest chance of it [and me] going bang.
If there's any risk I'll just dispose of it.

with a LPG bottle, the danger is when the gas air mix inside the bottle falls to it's explosive level it could well go pop. That's why after disconnecting domestic gas meters (natural gas) they should be capped, when the gas air mixture inside falls between (5 -15% gas in air) it is a bomb.
