Hear is the gears with a sharpie for scale as you can see they've seen better days

A rc car and there some type of steel

My fabricator can make stuff like that, he's £30 hr. I think he quoted me two hours to make a splined shaft. Never asked him for a quote for gears so not sure how that would compare.

That seems cheap my local one is over 100 a hour and the bits I need aren't worth it

I could cut the teeth but I would not fancy trying to cut that recessed hex. They look like they were produced by the sintering process.

Mill it with a small cutter and go past the corner?.

1 man band. He's booked up for 6 - 12 months though. I've stopped using him for that reason. I get my bits done in Poland now, plenty of small workshops over there capable of all sorts.

Can you not buy them off the shelf as replacement parts?

I could do it if i had the some involute gear cutters my life depended on it.
Don't underestimate how long it would take, possibly 4 or more hours A pro would maybe do it quicker.
The teeth could possibly be built up with TIG then re cut.

The hex could be done with a vertical mill and the gear mounted horizontally on a rotary table/dividing head

but would u realy want to make 2 of them for someone unless they were like rocking horse poo and u were given a few hundred quid to make them .can think of better things to make

Totally agree, it's a hell of a lot of work to make them but not impossible.
