I picked up this plasma cutter the other day for a good price. I knew it was 3 phase and we have 3 phase in the sheds of the place we bought last October so I am just starting to think about setting my workshop up (managed to pick up an old but working Bradbury four poster the other day too).
I went to plug it in to try it and it has five pins.
The first of my 3 phase plugs had four pins:
The second had five, so i thought, great:
But its too small to plug into this one. It will plug in in the shed next door which has a larger 5 pin plug, but thats becoming SWMBO's tack room, so no good for my tools!
Its fine, as the feed to the plugs in the tack room runs from the shed that is becoming my workshop and so i hope i cant get someone to install the larger five pin plugs on that cable, but i wondered if someone could help me understand the plugs and different options? I had naively presumed there would be one setup to suit all 3 phase applications!
