Here’s another. Check out the early posts where he runs a 5mm bit into the pcb.
Testing his ability obviously

The ultrasonic is really to remove the hard deposit from the underside of components your not removing. It goes for that 10 minutes normally for my machine. The IPA will dissolve a lot of the contaminated material but it’s also acting as a drying agent that won’t leave residue. It’s difficult to assess the damage without looking at the board but it sounds like valuable equipment and worth a try but it’s definitely a gamble regarding water damage. It also depends greatly on the quality of the original PCB material.
To be honest I don’t do enough repair work to be really confident at taking these jobs on and I would recommend a repair specialist if you can find one. There are places that do this work but they are expensive and will probably charge regardless of the repair.
Water damage is insidious and can be a lot of work to repair. Sounds like some forum members may have more experience than me. We handle a lot of expensive board at work that cost thousands to replace and we just scrap them as rework is just so time consuming and therefore expensive.
Any chance of find a spares unit on eBay etc.
Ah ok, I did troubleshoot his PCB but it was too small for me to work on.Unfortunately they only fix ones where you can tell them the fault (contacted them via email yesterday). Thanks for the name though
