Fork lift in to transit van. Engine crane out .They weight about 450 500 kgs. So should be ok

If you get the saw you can tell your wife you are rebuilding it for me, then give a good test and use it till i get around to picking it up. (however i wont ever get around to picking it up)

When I shifted my bantam I was going off the weight on Tony’s site - 343kg, but having since read the Colchester brochure I’ve found it’s actually 450kg. Would explain why my mates van which holds 600kg was sitting lower than he imagined!

Its always a concern putting big machines into a vehicle, weight loading comprising of sacks of feed spread over a load bed of a van versus point loading of a single heavy lump - I always try to spread the load with timber or pallets etc (common sense of course)

We split it; base, tray, bed and then the tailstock and chucks. Still, corners were scary!

I do miss my old company cars, they didn't have any weight limits and the carpets and seats had an indestructible covering... :-)

(edit) when I go to the auctions now I always think 'why didn't they look after that nice car'

I picked my Colchester student lathe up in my transit. Plus I had the engine crane in there and a compressor. Good job it was 5 minutes up the road as it sat it on its ass.

Well she has not sussed nothing out yet. Or not to my knowledge .But she will need to just deal with it because I got my eyes on one of these. Been after one for ages. Named the camel back drill. Made by many a manufacturer .denbigh. canedy otto and a few others .this one in the picture below is a denbigh 24. They come up for sale every so often. Have you ever seen one of those in the flesh? I have one & they are very big & very heavy! They are very long front to back so it will sit out quite far from the wall. Mine is sitting in a large open shed as I have no room for it in my workshop!

Did tell you. Any chance you could post a photo of the power disconnect setup, at the rear of the head unit? The switch & arm setup which disconnects power to the motor when the bow drops.
