I think they took the real valuable things like the traction engines. Went to the centre in nov, it was interesting but more from a stories point of view than anything actually being there. From what I gathered the museum owner backed the wrong ex Mrs dibnah and incurred the wrath of the rest of the family, ensuring they would never have anything to do with it. It’s a shame really, there could’ve been so much more made of it.Huge fan of freds, sad to see this carry-on. His sons should have taken every thing before the vultures circled.

I didn’t realise till I visited that he only lived literally 5 minutes from my house
There was 3? Of them, and none of them like each other, however it seems one was disliked more than the others. All very ridiculous stuffThe wrong mrs dibnah ? Was she the ex-conjuror's assistant ?
How can you have lived round the corner from Fred dibna and not realize. The man was legend....I think they took the real valuable things like the traction engines. They were selling his jumpers on eBay .....Lot 249 "A PAIR OF OVERALLS, A TARPAULIN ETC." - how sad is that.
I see most of the other clothing items have been withdrawn, though.![]()
They were selling his spanners too and they fetched a good price, a bit strange to see similar old spanners in the auction estimated at lower than the ebay sold prices. They were selling his jumpers on eBay .....
Did you see the price the ladders were reaching? They were selling his spanners too and they fetched a good price, a bit strange to see similar old spanners in the auction estimated at lower than the ebay sold prices.
The same type of old spanners I see at every car boot going for 20p each...arouses suspicion very easily.
An old boy told me years ago that at every death/funeral the vultures circle, there is always someone looking for a quick quid, or something for nothing. He was right 100% in my experience, there is always some lowlife on the make.
