I am not sure if that would work as the EWM is controlling both motors, as far as I am aware, and monitoring the currents of both so that it can feed both the wire feed motor and the pull motor and turn them at the correct speeds.
If I did it the way I think you are saying then basically I would be taking the EWM out of push/pull mode and I am not sure if that would screw up the pulse welding capabilities or not.
One thing I certainly do not want to do is damage the EWM, don't give a toss if I damage the push/pull torch as it was cheap enough for me take a risk on it being suitable which it turns out it wasn't

Ha ha yes that is the ideal solution but at £3k for an EWM one I don't think I will bother
I have a Binzel PP36D which works great but it is a pistol grip type which can on rare occasions be awkward to get into tight spaces and it is only 6m long. This one would have been great due to it being like a standard Mig torch in shape and being 8m long but it is not to be for this machine.

^^^ That's in Fronius teritory and that is for a water cooled version, sure that wasn't a miss print. I can't imagine that anything would be more expensive than Fronius. I could have gotten a 10meter gun as it is available, but allas not available in this country, was just another $500 I think. When you are spending that much coin what's another $500

Yes, the welders actually seem cheap if you consider they are charging that for just a torch Must admit though the welders, or at least the one I have is brilliant.

i looked at the welders haveing not used one i'll reserve judgment but if they are good and get the job done faster better there worth it

I wanted a pulse mig as I do a lot of Alu welding on fishing boats. Prior to that I just used standard Migs, from Sterling, Arcos Lincoln, Kemppi, Esab etc then latterly an R-Tech. All did well but their limits were really 4mm, 3mm at a push. With the pulse Mig I have done, as a test, 1mm and think nothing of doing 2 and 3mm now. Positional welding is also much easier and the synergic controls just work. The only other synergig Mig I have had is the R-Tech, it is no use in synergic mode, for Alu at least, never tried anything else as Alu is all I use Mig for.
I was thinking about one of the cheaper pulse Migs when I was offered the EWM. It wasn't new, in fact it is 10 years old but it had only done 22hrs welding time when I got it. It is a lovely machine, very adaptable and I can adjust just about every single part of the pulse to suit the way I weld. The cheaper pulse Migs I was looking at are really just no comparison, then again I suppose that is why they are cheaper

on ali i can see them being worth the money, as thats what you do and a machene that just dose what it says it dose, no fuss no bother is worth a lot, even more so on thin stuff.

For a DC output from the welder and a DC motor?

if your wire feed motor is 42v dc id put a scope on the motor so check if it pwm driven, if it is id probaly make a 24v powersuppy, put a pwm drive on it to run the torch, and pick a referance up off the existing wire feed motor

Aye, I will pass on that, noise is one reason but my EWM makes life easy for me. Will however be making a suitcase feeder for my EWM so15m to suitcase and 8m of binzel push pull

That's the hope , Also I can leave the EWM in the car so less chance of it getting bashed and hashed as I don't need to haul it onto/about boats.
