Oil boiler issue

Grants have a training centre in Hawes but i don’t know if they do vapoursing

I’ve found a place in York that does pressure, vapour, install and tank install, all 1 day each so a week off it is then

I’ve been doing gas and c/h 17 years so it’s just another addition for me

I did oftec courses in 2004. I also found it to be complete ****. I ended up writing to oftec to complain about how **** it was. Never did any good though.

Put the new pc board on and something else, ran through the first cycle perfectly. Everything did what it was meant to do. Before putting all the covers over the electrics, we ran it again. Didn’t run very well,it did the on off on off stuff again. The engineer is phoning grants again, be back mid week. Only positives are we ain’t paying for the new parts an£ we have saved a fortune in oil this last week or so !

Have you got a model number?

I would be tempted to play the touchy feely game from cold in heating mode and again from cold in hot water mode to see if any pipe is getting hot that shouldn't be getting hot

Nothing that is not meant to get hot is getting hot.

The model number would be good if possible. I wouldn’t mind having a look at the wiring diagrams.

IMO photocell needs send signal so to keep burning if it has no lighty-------it's no likey, to quote a line from a show the missus insists on watching, I usually go out------- a bit like the boiler !

burner jets are a right pain they may look good but can give trouble, I repair a few steam cleaners and can guaranty if it wont fire up or stay lit change the nozzle and it sorts it, I have done all kinds to try and get them to work adjusting this that and the other found now as soon as we get issues throw a new nozzle on------ even if its only just had one afew weeks!! and it usually sorts it.

Pretty sure it’s not the nozzle, the hot water side is now working as it should. The heating side has the problem

A CLUE!!!!!!

if it is working fine for hot water but not for heating then we can say it isn't the controls as most of the controls are shared

The burner is a nope as that is also shared

Now there is two different water circuits shown

One shares the circulating pump between the hot water and the central heating

Another doesn't

Have you got 2 pumps or one pump?

if two pumps has anyone looked at the central heating one?

I doubt it has 2 pumps

Blockage or diverter is my best bet

I stand corrected, however that looks like the simplest combi i've ever seen, If its lighting it should be simple to fault find
