Impact drill or rotary hammer?

I'm Sorry if it's little bit OT, but im starting working as elettrician, and i need some tips about what drill is better to buy first, because ill need an impact drill to drill holes on the boxes, drill on the walls
And i need a rotary hammer to drill on concrete (seriously i hate to wait 5 minutes to make an hole)
So which i need first?

Pistol drills will cope with block and most brick surfaces but take some time although you will come across some brick that will be almost impossible to drill with a standard pistol drill on hammer. A battery sds drill will eat pretty much anything up to about 15mm then it will start taking some time. I have successfully drilled 32mm with my sds battery drill but did it in stages, 14mm, 22mm, 32mm.

Also remember if you go out on a construction site its battery or 110V only!

Whit rotary hammer i mean borehammer something like a bosch gbh26-2, so yes an sds plus drill

For this reason i want one, but it can't do what an impact drill can do...
So i would know which i need to buy first?
Think as i have not one (i have some stupid chinesum drills, but i want something that don't die when im working)

Don't bother with a 'hammer' drill, they're just not up to more than putting up shelves (and some struggle with that).

A 2.5-3j SDS will do everything you're likely to need, and you can add a bigger rotary hammer later if you like.

I was looking for bosch, aeg or metabo
Personaly i have recently use this brands...
Bosch a friend last year ask me if i wanted it, and i tell him that in that moment i didn't need it

Aeg my brother have one and i use it when i work whit he
A friend say that i buy from him one of this for 90 € (he have a toolshop)
Metabo my neigbour always say me that If i need it i can take it.
He have this 1997 metabo drill that stil alive after 20 years of hard work

So i know this brands, i like to know your experience whit this ones

There are two switches. One to switch hammer on and off. And one to switch rotary on or off. (So you get just hammer action)

Single phase 230v (237 247v if you check)
Threephase 400v (420v if you go to check)
And also 440v but i never use it

Had an old bosch gbh. Tough old drills. Mine finally died stripping render off an extension.

And also 440v but i never use it

What he meant was whilst we have 240 volts in the uk if you go on site to do work you have to have a transformer and 110volt tools.

depending on what u want get an sds with rotary stop for chiselling and get a chuck adaptor

SDS is all you should need for drilling hard, non metal, materials. One with a rotary stop & hammer on/off. For subtler tasks, most hand drills nowadays have a standard hammer action, if needed, though I honestly can't think of the last time I ever needed that function.

If it's a metabo I really can't imagine you'e bought a dud - they'e proper gear!

Only drill 0-2500rpm 2nd gear
Hammer drill 0-1050rpm 0-4000bpm
Only hammer 0-4000bpm
Neutral to put the chiesel in the best position to confortable work
13mm steel
34mm wood
26mm concrete
68mm Diamond hole

For the moment is in standby waiting for whatever need to make a hole

Im studyng so 440v it's aviable only on ships, drilling platform or by an trasformer
