I use the Lidl wet 'n dry one, never tried it for liquids but it does the job for grinding dust, swarf etc.....

I have a Metabo AS20L, best vacuum I have ever had for the workshop, just keeps on going and it gets serious abuse sooking up all the soaking stuff from the Chiron and Lathes (will probably die tomorrow now I have said that 
)
Not the cheapest, I paid around £80 for it new but was a long time ago (5 years, maybe more) and I see they are now over £100. I will buy another when this dies as usually the wet/dry vacs last me a max of 2 years.

That said I need to buy a class M extractor for work. Sawdust mdf dust etc. Times that price by 4 or 5 and your close.

I think the answer would be " owner misuse"I'm on my second Henry. I only got 23 years out of the last one.It didn't die though, the contacts wore away on the cable wind slip ring.
I wonder if machine mart would give me my money back?!

The squat ash vac they did/do has good suction. I need to try & remember to sift through the bag before I bin it, due to some parts being sucked up unintentionally. I definitely can't fault it on the suction front.
