looking on the miller calculator says about 100-130 amps for flat fillet tig welding on mild steel. how much would you decrease in amps for vertical? or because tig is presision it stays the same.
reason for asking is i need to weld somthing to my axel on my car its going to be vertical if i weld it in position. was thinking of stick welding it vertical up with a 13 rod. what do you think?
EDIT-just got some 12 rods what a difference in VD it makes

12, 10 ect being the core size of rod dia.
