I didn’t think such things existed. I’ve seen some are less cumbersome than others but due to the extra motor built into the handle I thought they were all pistol grip design.I was wondering if anyone knows of or has links to conventional style push pull guns. What I mean by that is ones that are like a conventional Mig torch rather than the pistol grip style that is more common.
Push pull torches are always expensive.
Don't suppose you have a link to them? You're looking a mk products only I think. They sell the python gun to lincoln and possibly miller too.
There is / was an eBay auction for a couple of old industrial mig power sources that had cobramatic feeders with them. They might have had python guns, worth a look
Sounds like it will be two things.Binzel have just brought out a new in line push pull gun which may be of interest to you.
I’ll see what I can find on it, not even seen it in person yet.Looks a nice gun @Tom Orrow L , can't find any info on price but suspect well north of £1000.
North of £1000
Is that really that bad for what your getting from a quality torch.
You can quite easily pay 250-400 for a quality tig torch and there is no where near comparison between tig and push pull torches.
There is some neat work gone into a nice push pull torch. I don’t think north of a grand is unrealistic really for a good quality one.
Looks like the cobramatic feeders have gone sadly, that or the auction ended and they are considering re-listing them or scrapping them. They weren't the first cobramatic's to go through ebay though, I've seen a few before so they do show up.
Is the fronius torch easily dismantleable? Might be easy to find a suitable frame size dc motor.
Would you not be able to convert the 42volt feed down to 24volt either by swapping out the motor like Hughf suggests or some sort of transformer .if the torch you have is almost perfect for the job thats were I would concentrate my effort in getting up and running but then I'm all about saving the pennys and could give a Yorkshire man a run for his money so I have been told...good luck and let us know how you solve this puzzle.
