ive found they last longer if you get the gas out after use if youre not using it daily /often

If its of any interest I have a similar hot air pistol from Nimrod.

It has a heat shield which clips on, this makes it a really useful tool for use with heat shrink tubing. There is no real flame as the heat is by catalytic action like the gas soldering irons.

The gas tank is like a disposable lighter but this one is refillable and just uses the cans butane lighter gas for refilling which everyone has mentioned.

I get these from rhodes Greece whenever I go, usually buy three or so each trip, they are only available from the deaf mutes that sell bits a pieces they come to the bars etc but at that price well worth it.

they are instant light and are usually about 3-4 euros they produce a wind proof blue pointy flame the only issue is you have to be careful coz its a naked flame so as to not burn the heatshrink they are incredibly handy I have a couple in each car and several around the house in tool boxes etc they are about 75mm tall so take no space the little cap on the chain stops them going off in your pocket

Thanks for that, just bought one maplins 12.99 its the guard I like.
I am doing wiring NOW as we speak, on a mit EVO 4 !!!and need to use the guard coz repairing ecu wiring plugs and HAVE to use it to save other .5 mm wires that are mm away and the full size gun is a pain ruined the joint twice.

£25 wow I use my gas solder iron exhaust when i cant be bothered to change the tip! I did buy a second gas iron but forget where i stashed it. I get my gas from Beal

About 6 or 8 years ago I was Christmas shopping at Sainsbury's in the white rose centre.
Two trolleys full of shopping on conveyor, 15? Year old daughter in tow about 8 people behind me in queue.
ONE bottle of old peculier.
I was asked for ID "in case it was for my daughter".
I walked out leaving 8 VERY annoyed people behind me in the queue whilst they cleared the till. I took my two (empty) trolleys cos they had my quids in.


Never been back.
