Those sneaky chinese!

Anyone else noticed that the Chinese sellers on eBay are listing items to be located in the UK with over a week delivery time? Then when said items are delivered they have a different delivery label stuck over the Chinese one!

I buy from the UK as I want it coming from a UK seller within good time!

Probably a big task for eBay to deal with, But I think there should be a crack down on this operation.

I've noticed that too, been like that for a long time. Some Chinese sellers have depots in the UK and so some of their goods come from China, others from the UK. Delivery times are the giveaway.

The seller details are the giveaway - businesses have to list their contact details at the bottom - some of the listings look like they are UK, and state a UK based place of dispatch but the business address will be some Chinese address

I had the same, Chinese seller listing with UK stock and location London, took weeks to come and posted from China, felt conned.

Yep; I've been stung by a few of them recently. Fair pees me off, when I deliberately buy something from say, Lincoln or Manchester, knowing it will be here inside a week. Only, it's not, it turns up in a month if I'm lucky.
I don't hold back with stinking feedback now.
Related to that, and directly linked to the title of the thread - I've had a few offering to buy my good feedback, by giving me a discount if I rescind a negative.
My answer is always short and never sweet.

on the plus side ive ordered a few bits n bobs from china and its been coming in no time at all just latley , they seem to have thier act together , £1.50 posted for a lawn mower spark plug and air filter lol

I've had the same from Amazon, bought item then had a 2 week wait for delivery from China.

I don't mind waiting from China when the same thing is double - triple or more from a UK supplier plus seems to me often for 4 x's the correct postage.......

read somewhere that the post from China is subsidised for their small busines's......this was supposed to stop early this year........has it happened ??

No...thats why no one can compete with China. I can buy an item and get it shipped for way less than i could bulk buy from China and resell.


BUT to resell even small things i would need to charge 3.90 just for postage...

So just what is the deal with postage in China?. I agree it seems as though the Chinese can ship things to the UK for next to nothing yet If I wanted to ship something to China it would cost me a small fortune.

A lot of UK ebayers will not post up here to the Highlands of Scotland so I often buy from China via ebay or aliexpress.

Work out how many letters and small parcels a cargo Jumbo can hold.
Figure out how much the actual cost of the carriage of a small item it from Shanghai to here.
There's your answer.
DHL, FedEx and others have been coining it in for years.

I've had a couple of refunds from China. No (few) questions asked. One was for a slightly damaged socket on a sewing machine motor. They offered me 60% refund which was a result since it was still perfectly usable as it was

Just bought a diesel heater from a UK seller!
Ordered on the 29th only just provided tracking so it looks like it posted form China, I hope I don't get stung for duty! as thats why i hunted for a UK seller!

when it delivered refuse it they will ask for the inport duty on delevery normaly just say the person has moved

An important fact to remember is if they list despatch is from the UK and the item has to be returned for whatever reason they must provide you with a UK return address, that's an ebay rule.
