I said to him lower it as far as u can before putting it over me vanu never know if u get a powercut he just looked vacant

You sure you've never worked in our place?I think you was completely out of line here, you could have easily cut a hole in the bulk head and had it poking out of the passage window with a high viz vest wrapped around the end!!
Any problem just ask your boss this. Scenario: he and his children (real or imaginary) in front of you on the motorway, in the rain, and he had to do an emergency stop.
Would he still think it was a good idea when your overweight van skidded into the back of his car, and then emptied the contents of the roof rack through his back window.
Sometimes saying no is the right thing to do.

Charming, the best thing to do with bosses like that is get another job, at the end of the day it's your license and conscience that it'll be on if it all goes wrong.I worked at a place and one of the guys put unistrut on the roof rack of a van after the "BOSS" told him to pick it up, The van was a Astra estate looking thing, After it all went wrong with the strut flying off the boss denied ever saying it and sacked him.
I'm only 58.Charming, the best thing to do with bosses like that is get another job, at the end of the day it's your license and conscience that it'll be on if it all goes wrong.
@Bryan Williams I'm glad you said No, I've no idea how old you are but in my experience bosses will try to impose on younger guys as they know if they ask us old farts we'll just tell them to take a hike.
