It appears to have left hand cut on tip & first 3\4mm & left hand flutes then becomes a standard drill.
The face feels & looks sharp, 60degree angle, it is a quality product not chinesum tried it in alloy does not cut at 1200rpm left or right rotation .
No one I have shown it to has seen another like it

its a quality product and it don't cut a fat lot of good that is it will be ok on the end of a rechargeable drill for stirring paint up

Everything about that suggests it's a RH bit with a twisted tip. Even the leading edge on the flutes suggests RH.

Its a special bit for drilling liquids.

Don't think so there is little if any set on tip (read Blunt) as for twisted no way.
It is SS as well

It's not just been damaged and twisted as a result? Just a superbly clean break.

It's 129mm long in total\, flutes extend 54.5mm
There is no damage other than appears to be no very little set on cutting face it feels sharp whichever way you turn it, beginning to wonder if medical drill

Could have beed reground to see if it worked. Are you sure it's stainless? I don't think I've ever seen a stainless drill bit.

Well it's not magnetic could be cobalt I suppose but has no color tint to it

That's a stranger one, but it does look as if it got hot the twist is not uniform

Aeons ago ('69?), we bought a B&D drill off Ex & Mart. It came with a packet of drills and some saw blades. One of the drills had a left twist and another looked like that one. Made of some inferior metal, so >>bin. As for the other accessories, can you imagine putting a circular saw blade on a nut and bolt in the drill chuck and trying to cut something? No guard or anything sissy. Still make my neither régions shrink.
