Stainless Steel BBQ Grate

I won't be getting the BBQ out just yet!

But last year I started to build a barrel BBQ 199L

I'm struggling to find anywhere that has reasonably priced grill rack.

Preferably Stainless Steel, But even that mesh you get on disposable BBQ's.

Realistically I would like 1/2" mesh as there's nothing worse than your hallomi falling through!

Any help would be great! Below £40 mark would be good.

Most of the ones I've seen on there are too small.

Need 100 X 50cm sort of size.

eBay's a good shout. Even if you have to weld a couple together. I got one and cut it to size for mine a couple years back.

Halloumi, what kind of meat is that?

You would be better making it in two halves, that way you still have access to add more charcoal, or to move it around etc

I’ve built a few BBQsin my time but never a SS grill. Your better off with a steel grill rack and then use it regularly to build up the non stick coating. I use my bbq three or four times a week any weather

Any suggestions on where to get a steel grill rack? Are we all still suggesting eBay?

I'm tempted to make mine dual fuel, So that I can use gas & charcoal. As much as I love Charcoal BBQ's gas is a better option when you have plenty of food to get cooked!

I've never bought a grill rack. I always make my own. For the last few years I've been using 6mm rebar that I acquired. It works a treat.

2017 was the first year I hadn't built a BBQ for a good few years. Defo gonna build a new one this year.

I have plans, it involves a 19 kg cylinder, a 13 kg cylinder, some wood, a picece of granite and some metal

Grilled halloumi is nice on the BBQ. It's challenge to do something other than meat

Good man. I’ve just done chicken fajitas on the BBQ, with all the trimmings and curly fries.
