Unfortunately it's a manufacturer issue, luck of the draw, make sure you put additives in and when warranty is up take out cheapest boiler cover you can find, not British gas though.

£600 lighter and half a days work new boiler is ion and running boiler cover if you ask me aint worth the cost with boliers so cheap now days! I could have got even cheaper than that one but that fitted all the fixing with no messing about.
so @slim_boy_fat its HOTchef again! lol

We spent 3 times that for an oil fired one

That said it is built like a tank and i expect to get 20 plus years out of it

here we go all I will say is u need to be gas safe to get the boiler registered for the 5 year warranty

Thats the only DIY job I wouldn't take on if I needed a new boiler. Don't get me wrong I could probably do a good job, But with house insurance & lives involved I would rather leave it to the professionals.

Had a leaking Boiler once & fixed it. But anything Gas related I leave it alone just to be safer than sorry

I give up on the argument, not going down the competency one because that is now in legislation.

However, I’m fairly sure a lot of members on here could do a very good job with boilers and pipe work etc. All bets are off if they make a big mistake but you know, lot of skilled and clever people here

as above dont want to spoil this there are a lot of people that are good enough to do this and i think i would be but would not do it my self

That's good to hear, Some Plumbers/Electricians don't always like to put their name to work they haven't done. I understand why, But fair enough!
