See the
hole
That looks like a reactor pile from a 1950's Sci/Fi film to me.... are you sure it's just the one hole ? there is a lot of staining over on the right of that picture as well.See the View attachment 127280 hole

I know it's a bodge and I hate bodges but summat like JB waterweld would probably fix that, I used it successfully on the float bowl of a carb.
£300 for a new heat exchanger I am getting a new boiler aint worth it £550 with 5 year warenty on a new oneI’m doing one for a neighbour soon, I will let you know the cost of the new heat exchanger
How about JB Highheat then ? 600psi at 400F, I can't see it ever getting that hot after all the water on the other side would have long boiled away at 400F.
well its going to have flame on one side and 1.5bar of water on the other side, I cant see it being very permanent.
me neither hence the new boiler when the merchants opens after the new year
I honestly have no idea but assuming it's not a big job to strip the boiler I'd be tempted to give it a go as it'll only cost you a tenner, the worst that happens is that it fails and you have to strip the boiler again and buy what will no doubt be an expensive spare part.maybe worth a try there may be other holes further in though, do u think the JB Highheat would do it?
What you replacing it with
Can you get to the back of the hole?
If so get a tapered plug and tap it home.
Also
It’s ******
So you have nothing to lose by removing the post and sticking something in a nice round hole
well the ariston Ariston E-COMBI evo
is £509
or the new ideal indepent is 550
both with 5 year warentys
