So - tried calling TWS Direct today to get their take but no one answered the phone!
In the end I took a punt and ordered the Oxford S-MIG 270-1. The GYS is a really nice looking machine but I was going to have to spend another £175 to get the Cali-MIG and I just don't feel as confident in it been as reliable & then being able to get spares easily. Something about having computer processors involved makes me nervous! So hopefully it'll prove to be a good choice....roll on 7-10 working days so I can get my hands on it!

Apologies! Very short staffed today and the phones were ringing off the hook so we missed a fair few today!
So absolutely gutted but had to cancel the Oxford order today. Have nothing but good things to say about the guys and gals at Welding Supplies Direct but they've been woefully let down by Tec-Arc who've repeatedly missed their own imposed deadlines with no real explanation and then some contradictions after the fact. A shame because it's a nice looking machine.
Have now ordered a Lorch M-Pro 250 Control-Pro (in stock on a shelf) from Wasp. Hope the machine arrives in the next week or two even with the usual Christmas shutdowns. Have only heard good stuff about the Lorch machines though have never tried one myself. Looking forward to it showing up - so are my customers as there are several orders now piling up!

Gutted for you - having recently bought the Oxford 240-1 I couldn't be happier, really nice piece of kit for a good price - built like a tank and a joy to weld with.

Really sorry about that Oli, they’ve been knocking back delivery dates left and right recently which is a bit annoying. The Lorch will serve you well, I’m sure!
What is wrong with them? If they are selling so many get some more staff! Or are they having supply problems with parts?

Some of it is parts.. they hired some more staff recently (some office staff and some production) but I don’t think it was enough. I really wish they would increase production more because the quality of their product is outstanding.
Yes- gutted. But oh well. It's a shame as I like to support British things and British jobs (not a Britain First supporter by any means but it's always nice to be able to to support the British companies where there is no obvious choice). Anyway, German machine now. I'm sure it'll be good - not heard anything bad about them
