Looking for a DAB car radio gadget.

I have decided to get SMWBO one of them DAB gadgets for her car as it has no DAB and she keeps on mentioning it. She has a 08 plate Pug 207 and these dont have DAB.

Can anybody suggest any good ones, max budget is £60.

Is there any specs i would be best looking fr in one aswell ?

OR, just get a cheap DAB radio fitted ?

as above mate done this a year ago and bought 3 ariels before it was useable think the last one was around £25 ish before the siginal was good

Why not change the existing radio for one which has DAB capability rather than an adapter ?

I have a double din radio/cd player in my toyota granvia thats just about to get changed, It still has the japanese frequeny range so i have my eye out for a DAB unit maybe with screen for a rear camera, I am very basic on my in car entertainment my morris 1000 radio has more valves in it than the engine..

I’ve recently fitted a Pure Highway 300 in my car, it’s fantastic!!
Read a few mixed reviews on it but I can honestly say it was money well spent.

I have one of the older Pure sets that's designed to be plugged into the audio in the car (rather than integrated properly like newer ones) and it worked well (for when I had a car without DAB).
It looks like the 300 is discontinued in favour of a newer one. One thing you have to be aware of is that DAB in the countryside is a lot more variable than FM/AM, and it just blanks out when you lose the signal.

that's where the separate dab ad ons come in to play with your am fm radio and loose signal

I bought one of these over a year ago for the Disco, it's been great using the antenna with the unit, a bit of wire that I've tucked behind the headlining, well, no worse than people with integrated DAB radios and antennas, the hills where I am are a bit of a challenge. No doubt it would be better with a decent antenna but I can't be bothered, too many jobs to do.

It can be used by tuning into an FM channel on your car radio I believe but I've always used it wired directly into the aux socket.

The Highway 300 (and 400) work by either plugging it into the aux input or by using a spare FM frequency.
Mine has been faultless and the sound quality is superb!
As said, if it ever drops signal (mine hasn't yet) there's always FM.
Mine's permanently on BBC radio 6 Music.

The one i linked to in the OP has a built in ariel and full lit.

You reckon these type are just cheap ones and not much cop ?

Was the first idea, does that not mess up the rest of the radio system as in steering controls and dash etc as radio unit is connected to the dash screen info in the dash above the radio. I have looked a few and they are in my price bracket still,

Will ahead unit need a new DAB ariel then?

I bought a new dab head unit for my car & I'm disappointed. With DAB you'll either have a signal or nothing at all, no fading away like FM. Around here the DAB signal is terrible so I get nothing most of the time.
My DAB unit was a pioneer & I was able to get an adapter kit to work with my factory fit car controls but I lost the radio dash screen info. I got everything in Halfords, they normally have good deals going around xmas.
You can get a combined FM/DAB aerial that fits in place of your standard one. I had a mag mount DAB one that kept blowing off. I eventually lost it one day & never bothered replacing it.
There is a lot of good stuff on DAB but until they do the full digital switchover for radio across the country it just doesn't work well in cars yet. I've Planet Rock running full time in the workshop using my old mag mount CB aerial on the roof feeding into a hifi with DAB tuner.
